Remember to be considerate and always practice good golf etiquette, such as…
- Keep up with the group in front of you, not ahead of the group behind you.
- Play ready golf! While others are hitting, go to your ball and prepare to hit. When you are ready and it's your turn, hit the ball!
- Leave your cart just to the right of your ball so it's close but won't interfere with your swing (lefties do the opposite!)
- Do not walk in the path of a player who is ready to hit.
- Keep practice swings to a minimum.
- Only spend one minute looking for a lost ball – if you are unable to find it, play another ball (optional 1 stroke penalty for novice golfers).
- Stick to a 4-some. A 5-some may sound like more fun but it really slows you down and will interfere with the group behind you. If you have 5, then split up as 2 and 3.
- Restrain yourself from jumping on the green – even if you just birdied that hole! Even soft cleats can really chew up the ground.
- Do not mark your score on the green just played – others are waiting! Mark your score card on the next tee while you are waiting to tee off.
- Replace all divots and repair all ball marks!
- Dress code is in effect – no tank tops or short shorts please.
The Nine Shot Rule
We play a nine shot rule - take only six shots on the fairway and three putts on the green! If you are unable to reach the green with six shots, pick up your ball and place it on the edge of the green. If you are unable to sink the ball in three putts, pick up the ball and proceed to the next hole. Maximum score of 9 strokes per hole. This rule keeps up the pace of the game and lowers the frustration level for new players and those who are having a rough round!
